Shattered Flowers. Concertina Book, Brown Linen cover, 3x15 inches

3 inches square, closed. 10 individual pages. Lumen prints. 2024.

I construct these Lumen photographs as site-specific investigations and records of our fleeting natural reality, disrupting patterns of faded color luminous flower shapes, revealed by sunlight.

Lumen prints date back to the first days of photographic image-making in the early 19th century when William Fox Talbot experimented with making “photogenic drawings” without a camera.

With delicate unique impressions, these capture the physicality, form and fragility of nature, abstracting to the creativity of light, time and space.

The work connects to our natural inclination to explore curiosity and imagination to discover and revere a shared living natural experience.
